The Very Hungry Caterpillar Craft Activity

The Very Hungry Caterpillar ate 1 apple, 2 pears, 3 plums, 4 strawberries, 5 oranges, and then he ate 1 cake slice, an icecream cone, a pickle, cherry pie, cheese, watermelon …. and he ate it all…. and then had a stomachache.

….. based on the book by Eric Carle.

This book is quite popular among young kids and educators. And it is available in various versions from board books to buggy books. Along with just reading the book, it’s proven that associated crafts and activities increase interest in books along with other skill developments like cognitive, language and social.

Here is a basic simple Paper Caterpillar Craft that can wriggle around by blowing with a straw.
Activity: Blowing Paper Caterpillar Craft with a Straw

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Craft Activity

This fun activity will keep kids busy for hours as they would love to feed the caterpillar all the food they can get their hands on. So since we love cooking pretend play and shopping play, we had a lot of fruits, vegetables, at our dispersal. However, in case you don’t have plastic food toys, you can draw the fruits and vegetables on paper and use or use pictures.
